Domino’s Sri Lanka marks 15 years with longest pizza in Sri Lanka

Domino’s Sri Lanka has celebrated its 15th anniversary in the country by creating what it describes as the longest pizza ever made in Sri Lanka, bringing together employees and business partners for a milestone celebration.

The global pizza brand entered the Sri Lankan market in 2011 and has since served more than two million customers and their families. Over the past 15 years, Domino’s has become part of a wide range of occasions, from family gatherings and celebrations to casual meals and late-night food cravings.

Reflecting on the anniversary, Shayana Seneviratne, Country Head Marketing of Domino’s Sri Lanka, said the company wanted to mark the occasion by creating something that reflected the brand’s culture and spirit.

According to Seneviratne, the anniversary celebration was designed not only to look back at Domino’s journey in Sri Lanka but also to create a memorable milestone of its own. Bringing employees together to produce the record-length pizza provided an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of the people behind the brand.

She also highlighted the importance of combining Domino’s international expertise, quality standards and global scale with an understanding of the preferences of Sri Lankan consumers.

Over the years, Domino’s Sri Lanka has expanded its menu in response to changing customer tastes. While pizza remains at the centre of its offering, the brand has introduced additional options including burgers and a selection of rice-based dishes.

The company has increasingly focused on local consumer preferences and product innovation, seeking to create more occasions for customers to choose Domino’s beyond its traditional pizza offering.

The anniversary pizza was conceptualised by Chef Nalaka Mahawaththa, with the project implemented with the support of the Domino’s restaurant operations team led by Suranga Perera. Teams from different areas of the organisation worked together on the initiative, making the large-scale pizza creation a collective anniversary project.

The celebration also acknowledged the contribution of Vijaya Bhaskar, Country Head of Domino’s Sri Lanka, whose leadership and support have helped drive innovation and continued development of the business in the local market.

The 15th anniversary comes after a notable period of international recognition for Domino’s Sri Lanka. The company received the Golden Franny Award for Overall Performance in both 2024 and 2025.

The achievement was particularly significant as Domino’s Sri Lanka became the first market in South Asia to receive the global award, further highlighting the performance of the local operation within the wider Domino’s network.

After 15 years in Sri Lanka, the brand continues to focus on adapting its international offering to local consumer expectations while expanding its menu, strengthening its operations and creating new experiences for customers.
