French hospitality group Accor has introduced its Pullman brand to Sri Lanka through two properties in Colombo and Bentota, expanding its premium hotel portfolio in South Asia.
The Pullman Colombo City Centre and Pullman Bentota Resort & Spa have opened in partnership with Softlogic Holdings PLC, adding a combined 384 rooms to the brand’s regional network.
Pullman Colombo City Centre features 219 rooms and suites, alongside restaurants and bars, meeting and event facilities, a rooftop infinity pool, spa and fitness centre. The hotel is positioned to serve business, leisure and meetings-related demand in the capital.
The Bentota resort, located between the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean, comprises 165 rooms, family rooms and suites. Its facilities include restaurants, water sports and wellness offerings, as well as venues for meetings, weddings and other events.
Financial details of the partnership and the investment associated with the two properties were not disclosed.
Accor South Asia CEO Ranju Alex said Sri Lanka represented an important growth market for the hotel group, supported by demand across business, leisure and experiential tourism.
“Sri Lanka is an important and growing market within South Asia, with tremendous potential across business, leisure and experiential tourism,” Alex said.
Softlogic Group Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Pathirage said the partnership reflected the group’s longer-term confidence in Sri Lanka’s economic recovery and tourism prospects.
He said the two hotels were expected to target business travellers, conferences, social events and leisure visitors while supporting employment and tourism-related economic activity.
The simultaneous launch strengthens Accor’s presence in Sri Lanka while giving Softlogic exposure to an internationally established premium hotel brand. The properties will also participate in Accor’s global booking and loyalty programme, ALL Accor.
Accor India and South Asia currently operates 75 hotels spanning the luxury, premium, midscale and economy categories. Its regional portfolio includes brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles.
