The secondary market was characterized with both the buying and selling interest during yesterday, marking an active trading session. The trading volumes were moderate.
In the 2028 segment, 15.02.2028, 15.03.2028 and 15.10.2028 traded at 10.10%, 10.15% and 10.30% respectively. In the 2029 category, 15.10.2029 traded between 10.60%-10.55% and 15.12.2029 traded at 10.60%.
Moving towards the mid-end of the curve, 01.03.2030 and 15.05.2030 changed hands at 10.85% and 10.90% respectively, while 01.08.2030 and 15.10.2030 traded between 10.93%-10.85% and 10.98%-10.85%.
Further along the curve, 01.02.2031 traded in the range of 10.90% – 10.75% and 15.05.2031 traded at 11.05%. In the 2032 segment, 01.07.2032 and 01.10.2032 traded at 11.50% and 11.40%, while 15.12.2032 maturity changed hands between 11.40% – 11.30%. In the 2033 segment, 15.01.2033 traded at 11.45% and 01.11.2033 traded between 11.65% – 11.56%. Moving towards the tail end of the curve, 15.10.2034 traded between 11.85% – 11.75%. Also, 15.08.2036 traded between 12.25% -12.20%. Finally, in the 2037 segment, 01.07.2037 bond traded between 12.30% – 12.25%
On the external front, the LKR appreciated against the USD, standing at Rs. 334.33/USD, compared to Rs. 334.79/USD seen earlier. Market liquidity in the banking system expanded to Rs.330.91bn from Rs, 299.51bn recorded previously.
