National recognition for search strategy connecting Sri Lankan buyers and sellers with the right listings
patpat.lk, one of Sri Lanka’s leading online marketplaces, has secured Bronze in the Best SEO/SEM Campaign category at SLIM DIGIS 2.6, the annual digital marketing awards organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). The recognition highlights the marketplace’s strategic approach to search engine optimisation and digital visibility, placing its winning campaign among the notable digital marketing work recognised at Sri Lanka’s premier digital marketing awards.
The award was selected from more than 550 entries evaluated by a panel of over 70 industry professionals, recognising the search strategy developed to help Sri Lankan consumers discover relevant listings on patpat.lk.
The award-winning campaign was carried out in partnership with Antyra Solutions, combining patpat.lk’s understanding of its marketplace, customers and categories with Antyra’s specialist expertise in search engine optimisation and digital marketing.
For patpat.lk, the Bronze award represents an important milestone in its ongoing investment in SEO and digital growth. For Antyra Solutions, the recognition adds another award-winning campaign to its growing portfolio of digital marketing work.
Building Visibility Around Customer Search
As an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers, being visible when potential customers begin their search is central to patpat.lk’s digital strategy.
The platform provides access to listings across a wide range of categories, including vehicles, property, electronics, home and living, fashion, services and more. This means users may arrive at the platform through highly specific searches, ranging from a particular vehicle model or type of property to products, services and locations.
The SEO campaign was therefore designed around the different ways consumers search online and the intent behind those searches. By improving the visibility of relevant category and listing pages, patpat.lk aims to connect users with information and listings that match what they are actively looking for.
For an e-commerce marketplace, effective SEO extends beyond simply increasing website traffic. It involves ensuring that users can discover relevant pages when they are researching products, comparing options or preparing to make a purchase.
Search has consequently become an important component of patpat.lk’s digital growth strategy, supporting product discovery while strengthening the marketplace’s visibility among potential buyers and sellers.
A Strategic Approach to Organic Search
The campaign was built around a straightforward objective: understand what customers are searching for and ensure patpat.lk is positioned to meet those searches with relevant content and pages.
The strategy incorporated keyword research, search-intent analysis, content optimisation and technical SEO improvements across relevant categories and listing pages.
For a marketplace featuring thousands of listings that change continuously, maintaining strong search visibility requires ongoing optimisation. Customer terminology, emerging product categories, search behaviour and the way users interact with search results can all evolve over time.
This makes marketplace SEO an ongoing process rather than a one-time initiative. Through continuous monitoring and optimisation, patpat.lk can adapt its search strategy to changing customer behaviour and emerging opportunities.
Relevance also remains a key consideration. Different search queries require different destinations. Someone searching for a particular vehicle, for example, may require a vehicle category or model-specific page, while a property-related search could require a page focused on a particular type of house, apartment or location.
Ensuring that each search leads users towards the most relevant category or listing page forms an important part of the marketplace’s broader SEO approach.
Combining Marketplace Knowledge With SEO Expertise
The campaign was developed through a partnership between patpat.lk and Antyra Solutions, its digital marketing and SEO agency partner.
While patpat.lk brought its understanding of its customers, marketplace and business priorities, Antyra Solutions contributed specialist expertise across keyword research, search-intent analysis, technical optimisation, onsite SEO, performance measurement and continuous campaign refinement.
The collaboration allowed both teams to align SEO activity with the actual ways customers discover and use the marketplace.
Performance insights were also used to identify new search opportunities and respond to changes in online behaviour. By continuously refining the strategy, the teams were able to keep the campaign focused on customer needs while supporting the broader digital objectives of patpat.lk.
The Bronze recognition at SLIM DIGIS 2.6 therefore reflects not only the campaign’s search performance, but also the strategic and technical collaboration behind it.
Amritha Allahakkoon, Head of Product & eCommerce at patpat.lk, said the recognition demonstrates the company’s continued focus on improving its digital visibility.
“Winning Bronze at SLIM DIGIS 2.6 recognises our continued investment in SEO and improving search visibility. Our work across SEO, GEO and AEO is helping more customers discover the right listings on patpat.lk,” she said.
Naveen Marasinghe, COO of Antyra Solutions, highlighted the changing digital environment and the importance of adapting to developments in search.
“With the digital landscape evolving faster than ever, and with an increasing emphasis on AI-driven search, we were excited to partner with patpat.lk to strengthen the brand’s digital visibility. We’re even more delighted to see those efforts delivering results and being recognized for their success,” he said.
Looking Ahead
The SLIM DIGIS 2.6 recognition provides further momentum for patpat.lk and Antyra Solutions as they continue developing the marketplace’s search strategy.
With consumer search behaviour continuing to change and AI-driven search, SEO, GEO and AEO becoming increasingly relevant to how people discover information online, the partnership will continue focusing on strengthening organic visibility and improving the overall digital experience.
For patpat.lk, the next phase will involve continuing to refine its search performance while ensuring that its growing range of marketplace listings remains discoverable and relevant to Sri Lankan consumers.
The Bronze award at SLIM DIGIS 2.6 marks another step in that journey, recognising the work already undertaken while setting the stage for continued innovation in digital search and marketplace visibility.
