Ninewells Hospital joined hands with Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children to celebrate World Children’s Day 2026, with a special programme dedicated to bringing joy, creativity and memorable experiences to children.
The celebration brought together children and healthcare professionals for a day filled with fun, entertainment and meaningful activities, including face painting, a bouncer castle, instant drawing, dancing and singing, a kids’ movie area, magic shows, mascots and a special exhibition of artwork submitted for the World Children’s Day art competition (Lassana Lokayaka Lama Siththama).
The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, who joined the celebrations and shared in the spirit of the day.
The initiative reflected the value of collaboration between Sri Lanka’s public and private healthcare sectors, with Ninewells Hospital and Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children coming together with a shared commitment to supporting the well-being, happiness and development of children.
