The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has received the Great Place to Work certification for the fifth consecutive year, recognising its continued efforts to foster a welcoming, inclusive and safe workplace environment.
The CSE has received the certification annually since 2022, reflecting its ongoing focus on workplace culture, employee wellbeing and an environment built around trust, respect and collaboration.
“At the CSE, our people remain our greatest strength,” said CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike.
“Receiving the Great Place to Work certification for the fifth consecutive year is a meaningful recognition of our commitment to creating a workplace culture founded on trust, respect and collaboration. It is an achievement shared by every member of the CSE team and reflects the passion, commitment and teamwork that continue to drive our success,” he added.
The certification was awarded by Great Place to Work, a global organisation that provides workplace recognition across more than 180 countries and regions, representing more than 20 million employees and 22,000 companies worldwide.
The recognition was based on the results of an anonymous, company-wide employee survey evaluating workplace culture across five key dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
The certification reinforces the CSE’s commitment to its core values of professionalism, integrity, care, teamwork, passion and agility. The exchange has also placed a strong emphasis on equity and inclusion, working towards maintaining a welcoming and discrimination-free workplace where employees can develop and contribute.
As part of its broader diversity and inclusion efforts, the CSE operates as an equal opportunity employer and is a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles. The organisation also works closely with the UN Global Compact and Respectful Workplaces initiatives.
The CSE has also continued to focus on developing young talent, with early-career professionals accounting for 57% of its workforce. The diverse team supports the operations and continued development of the CSE and its subsidiaries, including Central Depository Systems, recognised as South Asia’s first central securities depository, and CSE Clear, Sri Lanka’s first and only central counterparty system.
The CSE said it will continue to uphold its workplace standards and strengthen an inclusive environment where employees can thrive and contribute to the organisation’s role within Sri Lanka’s financial community.
