For the second consecutive year, 3M–McLarens hosted the 3M–McLarens Occupational Health & Safety Symposium 2026 under the theme ‘Cultivating Healthy Minds for a Stronger, Safer Workplace’ at Monarch Imperial recently.
The 2026 edition placed particular emphasis on the connection between mental well-being and physical workplace safety, drawing attention to global developments and evolving international standards in occupational health and safety.
The symposium provided participants with practical strategies to manage everyday stressors and psychological pressures while highlighting the importance of creating resilient, supportive and psychologically healthy workplaces. Discussions focused on the role of mental well-being in strengthening overall workplace safety and creating environments where employees can remain supported and engaged.
The event brought together cross-industry leaders from both the public and private sectors, occupational health and safety professionals, and thought leaders representing 3M and the McLarens Group. The gathering provided a platform for participants from different industries to exchange perspectives on emerging workplace health and safety priorities.
Commenting on the significance of the event, Dilan Seneviratne, Director and CEO of 3M-McLarens, said, “Following the benchmark set during our inaugural symposium, returning for a second consecutive year reinforces our long-term dedication to elevating workplace standards across Sri Lanka. Safety extends beyond physical protective equipment; it begins with the mind.
“By focusing on cultivating healthy psychosocial environments, we empower employees to feel supported, secure, and focused. At 3M–McLarens, our mission remains clear: combining global scientific innovation with practical expertise to build safer, stronger, and more resilient organisations.”
The 2026 symposium reflects the growing focus on mental well-being as an integral component of occupational health and safety, while reinforcing the importance of addressing both physical and psychosocial factors in creating safer workplaces.
