MAC Holdings contributes Rs. 5 million to ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund

Demonstrating its commitment to supporting national recovery efforts, MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. contributed Rs. 5 million to the Government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, an initiative established to provide relief and assistance to communities affected by the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah.

The official cheque handover ceremony took place at the Presidential Secretariat, where Andre Fernando, Managing Director of MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., presented the contribution to the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

The financial contribution reflects the company’s efforts to stand in solidarity with affected communities during a challenging period of recovery and rebuilding. According to the company, the donation was made possible through the reallocation of funds that had originally been allocated for MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd.’s annual Christmas celebrations, redirecting those resources toward a meaningful national cause.

By prioritising humanitarian support over corporate festivities, the company aimed to contribute toward urgent relief measures and long term rebuilding efforts for individuals and families impacted by the cyclone.

The ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund was established to mobilise support for recovery initiatives, including rehabilitation, essential aid, and community restoration in affected areas. Contributions from both the private and public sectors continue to play an important role in assisting the country’s recovery efforts.
