Senfin Asset Management (SFAM) has secured further recognition in Sri Lanka’s fund management industry, with its flagship Senfin Money Market Fund (SMMF) receiving the Best Unit Trust Fund award at the CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards 2026.
The latest recognition marks SMMF’s fifth consecutive Gold award at the event, following Gold awards in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The fund previously received a Silver award in 2021.
The 13th CFA Society Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards took place on September 10, 2026, at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. The event was attended by Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Senior Professor Hareendra Dissabandara, Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Dimuthu Abeyesekera and CFA Institute Regional Director, Society Relations APAC, Reseena Abdullah.
Delivering the opening address, CFA Society Sri Lanka President Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane noted that Sri Lanka’s capital markets are operating in an increasingly complex environment influenced by economic and regulatory developments, artificial intelligence and geopolitical changes. She highlighted the growing importance of interpreting these developments while maintaining high professional standards.
SFAM said it continues to focus on transparency by providing comprehensive disclosures to unit holders regardless of their investment size. The company also said it adheres to the Global Investment Performance Standards framework and claims compliance with the CFA Institute Asset Manager Code of Professional Conduct, although this specific claim has not been verified by CFA Institute.
The company said asset quality remains a key priority for SMMF, with the fund focusing on managing risk rather than pursuing higher yields through increased exposure. According to SFAM, 95.2% of the fund’s investments are in A-rated or higher-rated investments.
SFAM was also the first standalone asset management company in Sri Lanka to receive a Fitch credit rating and remains the only Fitch-rated money market fund in the country, according to the company.
The company’s digital platform supports the end-to-end client journey, including customer onboarding, KYC procedures, investments, redemptions, switching and live inquiries. Application forms are available in Sinhala, Tamil and English as editable and digitally signable PDF documents.
The platform is designed for mobile and data-efficient use and also provides FAQs, educational content, live chat and dedicated fund information. Investors can access Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs), fact sheets and trust deeds through the relevant fund pages.
SMMF, which was launched in 2014, is designed to support short-term cash management for individuals and businesses. The fund offers same-business-day redemptions without an investor penalty and invests in a diversified portfolio comprising government securities, bank and non-bank financial institution term deposits, repurchase agreements and corporate debt, with maturities of less than 397 days.
Hatton National Bank PLC serves as the fund’s trustee. With a minimum investment of Rs. 1,000 and a management fee of 0.15% per annum, the fund is positioned as an accessible investment option. SFAM said SMMF recorded a one-month annualised return of 9.42%.
Beyond the money market fund, SFAM offers investment solutions across fixed income, equities and Shariah-compliant funds.
The Senfin Dynamic Income Fund invests in fixed-income securities with maturities exceeding 13 months, while the Senfin Growth Fund focuses on long-term capital appreciation through investments in CSE-listed companies with growth potential.
The Senfin Dividend Fund targets income and capital gains through a diversified portfolio of dividend-paying CSE-listed companies. Meanwhile, the Senfin Insurance Sector Fund and Senfin Financial Services Fund provide exposure to the insurance and financial services sectors respectively.
The Senfin Consumer Staples Fund invests across Sri Lanka’s retail and consumer sectors. SFAM also offers the Senfin Shariah Income Fund and Senfin Shariah Balanced Fund, which invest in Shariah-compliant securities and Shariah-compliant CSE-listed equities respectively.
The Senfin Select Factor Fund focuses on long-term capital appreciation through an equity selection process based on 10 key performance indicators. SFAM said the fund recorded a 5.28% year-to-date return.
SFAM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Senkadagala Finance PLC, a Central Bank of Sri Lanka-licensed finance company with more than 57 years of history, over 125 branches and a workforce of more than 950 employees. Its sister company, Senfin Securities (Pvt.) Ltd., is a CSE-licensed stockbroking firm.
SFAM encourages prospective investors to seek advice from qualified financial advisers if they are uncertain about the suitability of an investment product for their individual or corporate requirements.
The company also notes that unit trust investments are subject to market risks and that unit prices can rise or fall. Investors are advised to review the relevant KIID and consider applicable fees and charges before making investment decisions.
