Auto Direct has introduced the Nissan Tekton to the Sri Lankan market, becoming the first company to bring the new SUV to the country.
The Nissan Tekton will be offered through Auto Direct in both manual and automatic configurations. The T160 manual variant is priced from approximately Rs. 10.49 million, while the T280 DCT automatic range starts at around Rs. 16.69 million.
The first unit imported by Auto Direct is the Nissan Tekton Tekna+ T280 DCT. It is powered by a 1,333cc turbocharged petrol engine producing approximately 161 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through a six-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch transmission.
The arrival of the Tekton comes as Sri Lanka’s vehicle market gradually expands following the reopening of vehicle imports. With buyers now having access to a wider selection of new vehicles, factors such as pricing, technology, safety, comfort and long-term ownership support are playing an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions.
Auto Direct Managing Director Dilum Rathnayaka said Sri Lankan consumers are returning to the new-vehicle market with a clearer understanding of what they expect from their purchases. He noted that while price continues to be an important consideration, customers are also paying closer attention to technology, safety, comfort and the overall ownership experience.
The range-topping Tekton Tekna+ is equipped with a range of technology and premium features. These include an electric panoramic sunroof, six-way electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a 10.1-inch Tek-Link HD infotainment display and a 10.25-inch HD digital cockpit.
The SUV also comes with Google Built-in, including Google Assistant and Google Maps, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor with a 360-degree camera further enhances visibility and convenience for drivers.
Additional features include six airbags, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, 48-colour ambient mood lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control and a powered tailgate, adding to the vehicle’s comfort and premium positioning.
The Tekton also incorporates several driver-assistance and safety technologies. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot assistance and driver-attention warning.
To support customers beyond the vehicle purchase, Auto Direct is offering warranty coverage for the Nissan Tekton, together with trade-in facilities, customised payment plans and PCP financing. According to the company, these ownership support options are available across vehicles purchased through Auto Direct.
