Hayleys Solar has completed solar power installations at three prominent hospitality properties in Sri Lanka, supporting the sector’s move towards renewable energy and more sustainable hotel operations.
The completed projects include a 240 kWp installation at Golden Star Beach Hotel, a 780.57 kWp system at Tangerine Beach Hotel, and a 280.25 kWp installation at DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila.
The solar projects are expected to collectively offset approximately 1,356 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, contributing to a significant reduction in the properties’ environmental impact while lowering their dependence on electricity supplied through the national grid.
For hotels that have welcomed generations of local and international visitors, the transition to solar power represents an effort to combine high-quality hospitality with greater environmental responsibility. Renewable energy can also help hospitality businesses manage long-term operating costs and strengthen their resilience amid changing energy requirements.
Hayleys Fentons Limited Managing Director Hasith Prematillake said the completed installations demonstrate the role renewable energy can play in helping the hospitality industry develop more sustainable and efficient operations. He also highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting businesses across Sri Lanka with reliable and innovative solar energy solutions.
Hayleys Fentons Limited Deputy Managing Director, Energy, Roshane Perera noted that the hospitality sector remains an important contributor to Sri Lanka’s economy and international tourism appeal.
According to Perera, helping hotels shift towards renewable energy can reduce their environmental footprint while also supporting their long-term operational resilience. The latest installations therefore represent another step towards integrating clean energy solutions into Sri Lanka’s tourism and hospitality industry.
With the completion of these three projects, Hayleys Solar continues to expand its involvement in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy transition, working with businesses across key economic sectors to encourage cleaner energy generation and more sustainable operations.
