Abanchy Ceylon expands into Kenya with the incorporation of Abanchy Africa

Abanchy Ceylon (Pvt) Limited, the logistics arm of Pink Eagle Holdings, has expanded its African operations with the incorporation of Abanchy Africa Limited in Kenya, marking another step in the Group’s international growth strategy.

The move builds on Abanchy’s growing presence across international markets, following the establishment of sales offices in Ethiopia and Dubai in 2024. The new Kenyan operation is expected to strengthen the Group’s logistics network while creating a platform for further expansion across East Africa.

Abanchy Africa Limited will operate as a fully-fledged logistics and freight-forwarding company, offering a range of integrated services to customers in Kenya. Its services will include sea freight, air freight, customs clearance, transportation, warehousing and other logistics solutions.

The Kenyan operation is also expected to serve as a strategic base for Abanchy’s broader expansion across the East African region. By establishing a local presence, the company aims to combine knowledge of the Kenyan market with its international freight-forwarding capabilities and integrated logistics services.

Commenting on the development, Pink Eagle Group Chairman and Managing Director Asitha Silva said the establishment of the Kenyan operation reflects the Group’s commitment to developing a resilient and future-ready business with opportunities for growth in new markets.

He added that the Group aims to create sustainable value and encourage innovation by combining strategic thinking with a modern global outlook, while continuing to focus on performance and operational excellence.

Abanchy Ceylon General Manager Mohamed Asker said the expansion into Kenya is intended to strengthen the company’s international network while establishing a foundation for a broader regional presence.

According to Asker, the company will focus on combining local market understanding with international freight-forwarding expertise, customer service and integrated logistics capabilities to serve customers across Kenya and the wider region.

Abanchy’s African expansion began in 2024 with the establishment of a sales office in Ethiopia. The launch of Abanchy Africa Limited in Kenya now adds another operational presence to the Group’s growing international footprint.

The expansion forms part of Pink Eagle Holdings’ broader strategy to enter new markets and develop international business opportunities, while establishing a stronger Sri Lankan presence within global logistics and freight-forwarding networks.
