LB Finance PLC has completed the incorporation of its wholly owned subsidiary in the Philippines, marking the Sri Lankan non-bank financial institution’s entry into the Southeast Asian financial services market.
The new subsidiary, LB Finance Philippines Inc., received its Certificate of Incorporation and authority to operate as a finance company dated September 1, 2026. LB Finance disclosed the development to the Colombo Stock Exchange, noting that the relevant documents were received by the company on September 17.
The establishment of the Philippine subsidiary follows approval granted by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in December 2025 for LB Finance to expand its operations into the country. The approval provided for an initial investment of US$650,000 in the new subsidiary.
LB Finance had previously announced that its Philippine operation would engage in the provision of financial services, marking the company’s first entry into the Southeast Asian financial services market.
The move represents a further step in LB Finance’s regional expansion strategy, extending its presence beyond Sri Lanka and establishing a platform for the company to participate in the Philippine financial services sector.
