Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DCSL) has been recognised as Sri Lanka’s Most Valuable Spirits Brand by Brand Finance, highlighting the strength and enduring value of its portfolio.
The recognition reflects the heritage, quality and innovation that have shaped DCSL’s brands over generations, alongside the company’s understanding of the local market and its evolving consumer needs.
Established in 1913, DCSL has transformed significantly over more than a century, evolving from a traditional spirits manufacturer into a diversified organisation with operations spanning manufacturing, plantations, packaging, logistics and investments.
Commenting on the recognition, DCSL Director – Sales & Marketing Kasun Jayawardena said the achievement reflected the longstanding trust placed in the company’s brands by consumers, as well as the commitment of its employees.
“This achievement is a reflection of the trust that consumers have placed in our brands over generations, as well as the dedication of our people who continue to uphold the standards on which DCSL was built. For us, heritage is not simply about looking back; it is about using what we have learned to continuously improve, innovate and create value for the future,” Jayawardena said.
DCSL’s focus on innovation extends across its product portfolio, manufacturing processes and consumer engagement. The company has also expanded its export footprint, enabling Sri Lankan brands to reach international markets including Australia, South Korea, the Maldives and China.
The recognition comes as DCSL continues to invest in strengthening its manufacturing capabilities while exploring new opportunities for growth.
