The visit brought together a high-level Indian delegation comprising senior officials from India’s Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs. During his stay, Singh held discussions with Sri Lankan leaders and senior officials on matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

The INS Udaygiri had arrived at the Port of Colombo on 8 September as part of an official visit, coinciding with Singh’s presence in Sri Lanka. A reception aboard the vessel was subsequently hosted in his honour, bringing together senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps, military commanders and the visiting Indian delegation.
The wider visit also included discussions around strengthening defence capabilities and cooperation between the two countries. Recent reporting highlighted India’s plans to assist Sri Lanka in establishing an artificial intelligence facility for the Sri Lankan Army, alongside broader efforts to deepen defence and maritime cooperation.
