The Lions District 306D6 Inaugural Awards Ceremony 2025/2026 was held with great pride and celebration, bringing together Lions leaders, club members, dignitaries and representatives from across the district to honour outstanding achievements in leadership, service, membership growth, communication and club administration.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new Lions year while also recognising the remarkable contributions made by Lions Clubs and individual Lions during the previous year. With the participation of approximately 500 attendees representing 87 Lions Clubs within District 306D6, the event stood as a meaningful gathering of service-minded leaders committed to strengthening humanitarian impact across communities.

The event was graced by Shayana Jayalath PMJF, PMAF as the Chief Guest. Several Council Chairpersons and senior Lions leaders from Lions Multiple District 306 were also present, adding prestige and significance to the occasion.

Outstanding Recognition for Lion Thushari Dissanayake PMAF

A major highlight of the ceremony was the outstanding recognition received by Lion Thushari Dissanayake PMAF, whose dedication to service, leadership, membership growth and club development earned multiple prestigious awards.

Her achievements included the District Governor’s Excellence Award for Service Excellence, Platinum Award, Platinum Award for +5 Membership Growth, Platinum Award for Global Service Reporting and Gold Award for Most Outstanding Club President in Region 3B.

Lion Thushari Dissanayake PMAF was also honoured with the Silver Award for Most Leadership Modules Completed, Silver Award for Most Outstanding Club in Region 3B and the Elegance Young Lion Lady of the Year Award, further reflecting her commitment to leadership excellence and meaningful community service.

Her achievement highlights the important role of effective storytelling, documentation and communication in strengthening the identity and impact of a Lions Club.

Through her work as a newsletter editor, Lion Chemindri Wickramarachchi contributed to showcasing the club’s service projects, leadership activities, achievements and community initiatives in a professional and meaningful manner.
