Partnering with a prestigious international brand, he positioned it at the highest market tier in Sri Lanka through painstaking market development — educating stakeholders, addressing institutional resistance, nurturing channel partners, and navigating government procurement processes.

Over the course of his career, Ashok has been directly involved in more than one thousand smart classroom and digital boardroom projects, and has personally trained over 1,800 government school teachers across Sri Lanka. Today, Ashok is in Auckland, New Zealand, pursuing Business Informatics (Research) and laying the academic groundwork toward his doctoral aspirations. His research focuses on a subject that sits at the very heart of his career-long passion: Adoption Challenges and Market Penetration Strategies for Smart Classroom Solutions in Emerging Markets. The central question his research addresses — how organisations and administrations in emerging markets can effectively adopt, deploy, and sustain smart classroom solutions — is one that governments, educational institutions, and technology companies across the developing world are actively grappling with. Rigorous, evidence-based answers have the potential to shape national policies and international implementation strategies for years to come.

The unseen foundation: family and purpose

Behind every achievement in Ashok’s life stands a support structure that deserves recognition in its own right. He speaks with deep and genuine gratitude about his parents, whose values and steady guidance continue to shape his decisions across every chapter of his life.

His wife has been his most constant source of strength, encouragement, and perspective. And their daughter, he says, represents his greatest personal inspiration — his most compelling reason to continue striving for something meaningful.
