VietJet Air Colombo office opened by ambassador of Vietnam to Sri Lanka

VietJet Air officially celebrated the opening of its Colombo office at a special ceremony inaugurated by Trinh Thi Tam, Ambassador of Vietnam to Sri Lanka, marking a new chapter in strengthening air connectivity between the two nations.

In Sri Lanka, the airline’s operations will be managed by its General Sales Agent (GSA), Andrew The Aviation Company (Pvt) Ltd, under the leadership of its Chairman, Mahen Kariyawasan. The newly established Colombo office is expected to function as a central hub for passenger assistance, travel trade partnerships, operational coordination, and support for travel agents across the country.

The expansion of VietJet Air’s presence in Sri Lanka is anticipated to further strengthen travel links between Vietnam and Sri Lanka while encouraging tourism, business opportunities, and cultural exchange.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Trinh Thi Tam highlighted the strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries and expressed optimism regarding VietJet Air’s growing presence within the Sri Lankan market.

Meanwhile, Mahen Kariyawasan, Chairman of Andrew The Aviation Company (Pvt) Ltd, noted that the collaboration with VietJet Air is expected to create greater travel accessibility while contributing positively to tourism development and commercial cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Recognised as one of Vietnam’s prominent low cost airlines, VietJet Air continues to expand its presence across Asia, focusing on affordable travel, improved connectivity, and enhanced passenger convenience.
