Remember Chutneys? The flavours you loved are coming back

For many in Colombo, Chutneys was one of those places. A familiar table, the aroma of South Indian spices, a freshly made dosai arriving crisp and warm, and those favourite dishes you already knew you were going to order before even looking at the menu.

Chutneys became a muchloved part of Colombo’s dining memories, bringing the distinctive flavours of South India to Cinnamon Grand Colombo. And although its doors closed, the fondness for its food never really disappeared.

This August, the hotel is bringing back a little of that nostalgia. Come Back for the Chutneys brings together a selection of the restaurant’s signature favourites for four special evenings at the Courtyard. Think of the iconic Paper Dosai, beautifully crisp and made fresh; the rich, spice-filled Mutton Mangala; the much loved Kori Garlic Thalna; a comforting Rice Thali filled with familiar South Indian flavours; and the aromatic Kozhi Biriyani that many will remember from their visits to Chutneys.

It is a return to the dishes, aromas and flavours that made Chutneys special and perhaps, a return to a few memories too.

For those who once had their usual order at Chutneys, this is your chance to taste it again. And for those discovering these favourites for the first time, this is an opportunity to experience a little piece of a muchloved Cinnamon Grand Colombo dining story.

20th to 23rd August from 7.00 pm – 11.00 pm.
