Global music phenomenon BTS has reached yet another historic milestone, officially becoming the first music group to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify. The achievement has earned the seven member act another Guinness World Record, further strengthening their legacy as one of the most successful artists in modern music history.
The latest accomplishment comes just months after the release of BTS’ comeback album ARIRANG, which has dominated global charts and shattered streaming records since its debut in March 2026. The album opened with more than 110 million Spotify streams on its first day, the biggest opening day for any album released in 2026 and the largest ever for a K pop album. It later became the fastest album by a group and the fastest by any Asian act to surpass one billion streams on Spotify. ARIRANG also recorded more than 545 million streams during its first week, ranking among the biggest debut weeks in Spotify history.
With the latest Guinness World Record, BTS continues to extend an already remarkable list of achievements. As a group, they have been recognised by Guinness World Records for titles including the most streamed male group on Spotify, the most followed music group on Spotify, the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, the most viewed YouTube music premiere in 24 hours, the most viewed YouTube music video by a K pop group in 24 hours, and multiple social media milestones across Instagram, TikTok and X. The group has also received Guinness recognition for its record breaking chart performances and global fan engagement.
The members have also continued to build impressive Guinness World Record collections through their solo careers.
Jung Kook became the fastest K pop solo artist to reach one billion Spotify streams and has set several streaming records through his solo releases. Jimin made history as the first South Korean solo artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Like Crazy, a milestone recognised by Guinness World Records. RM, SUGA, Jin, j hope and V have also earned Guinness recognition through their individual chart achievements, streaming milestones and solo music success, highlighting the group’s influence both collectively and individually.
