Hayleys Mobility enters Sri Lanka’s two-wheeler market

Hayleys Mobility Limited, the mobility arm of Hayleys Fentons Limited, a Hayleys Group member, has entered Sri Lanka’s two-wheeler market, introducing premium motorcycles from China’s CFMOTO, one of the world’s leading powersports and motorcycle brands and ZEEHO electric scooters.

The launch expands Hayleys Mobility’s portfolio across adventure touring, sport riding, cruising and everyday commuting. CFMOTO’s line-up is led by the 450MT adventure motorcycle and includes the 125NK and 250NK naked street bikes, the 250SR and 450SR sport motorcycles, and the 250CL-C cruiser. The 150AURA classic scooter and 150SC further extend the offering for riders seeking convenient options for everyday urban travel. Complementing this range, ZEEHO (the dedicated electric urban mobility sub-brand of CFMOTO) has introduced mobility options through its AE and EZ series, including the AE4, AE7 Pro and AE8 Max, alongside EZ3i and EZ4.

Speaking to Mirror Business, Hayleys Fentons Managing Director Hasith Prematillake said the entry into the two-wheeler market of Sri Lanka marks an important step in broadening the company’s portfolio and reaching new customer segments. “CFMOTO is not for the mass market. It’s a bike for the niche market consisting Gen-Z and tech-savvy urban riders, focusing on connected, sustainable, and high-performance city commuting. It’s not a market that existed in Sri Lanka. What was available here was a market for used, reconditioned Japanese bikes in the 300cc – 450cc range. With our entry, we have created a market for brand new CFMOTO bikes, and we don’t see any competition.”

“We just signed up with Uber.  We are looking at introducing a high performance bike with battery swapping technology for Uber drivers. Our bikes are also ideal for those operating rental bike services, and we also see a huge market for trail bikes in the plantation sector,” he added.

Prematillake also noted that they got a dominant international partner to enter the two-wheel segment. “Headquartered in Hangzhou, China, CFMOTO has built a robust market share in over 100 countries and regions, and has branches in Europe, United States and Thailand. It currently holds a 25 percent market share in the highly competitive 200cc-plus manual/street motorcycle segment in China. The brand has redefined modern riding by blending advanced performance with accessible luxury. Its engineering capabilities are proven at the highest level in international motorsport.”

The two-wheeler market in Sri Lanka has experienced a massive post-crisis recovery in 2026, driven by normalising supply chains, strong demand for commuter models, and growing interest in electric alternatives.  As per Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) statistics, the total number of registered motorcycles (two wheelers) in the country by the end of 2025 has surpassed 5.2 million.

Alongside the opening of CFMOTO flagship showroom in Colombo 10, Hayleys Mobility has officially onboarded 44 authorised dealer partners across Sri Lanka. The network includes dealerships in Mahawewa, Moratuwa, Piliyandala, Dematagoda, Kalutara, Thalawathugoda, Maharagama, Kaduwela, Gampaha and Maradana, supporting the brand’s reach beyond Colombo.

Touching on the company’s future plans, the Managing Director said they look forward to introduce heavy, light and small trucks and also buses in the commercial area. “Our motto is One Brand for Every Journey. We want to introduce a whole range of mobility solutions to the market. Our bid to supply 200 King Long luxury buses to the Sri Lanka Transport Board has been selected. We received the letter of intent, and look forward to receiving the purchase order soon.”
