Diabetasol has announced Channa Wijewardena, Founder and Creative Director of the Channa-Upuli Dance Troupe, as the face of its latest campaign, ‘Keep Life in Rhythm’.
The campaign is built around the idea that everyone has a unique rhythm to life shaped by their passions, relationships and everyday routines. While a diabetes diagnosis can sometimes create a sense that these aspects of life need to be put on hold, ‘Keep Life in Rhythm’ seeks to challenge that perception by highlighting the importance of balance, discipline and nutrition in continuing to live an active and fulfilling life.
Sharing his perspective on living with diabetes, Wijewardena said, “Having diabetes for me is about finding the right balance, being disciplined about my choices and taking care of myself. I still want to enjoy my work, my passions and my everyday life. Diabetes is something I manage, but it doesn’t define who I am.”
Nutrition is positioned at the centre of the campaign’s message, with Kishan Canagasabey, Head of Nutrition at Kalbe, highlighting the importance of selecting nutritional products that are appropriate for individual needs.
“When someone with diabetes considers a nutritional drink, the real question isn’t just whether it’s nutritious — it’s whether it’s the right choice for their condition,” he said. “Research has moved well past the idea that one formula suits everyone. For someone managing diabetes, that distinction matters.”
Diabetasol has been formulated with this consideration in mind, featuring a low glycemic index intended to allow carbohydrates to be absorbed more slowly. The formulation also contains high protein, fibre, no added sucrose and essential vitamins and minerals, with the product positioned around the everyday nutritional needs of people living with diabetes.
With more than 30 years of global expertise and over a decade of presence in Sri Lanka, Diabetasol continues to focus on the connection between nutrition and everyday life. In Sri Lanka, the brand is brought to market through Hemas Pharmaceuticals as a partner of Kalbe, which is marking its 60th year of operations this year.
