Janashakthi Life, a flagship brand of JXG and a long-standing name in Sri Lanka’s insurance sector, has celebrated its 32nd anniversary, marking more than three decades of providing protection to generations of Sri Lankans and building long-term relationships with customers.
The anniversary celebration was held in the presence of Founder and Chairman Emeritus C.T.A. Schaffter, recognising the legacy and vision on which the company was established.
Janashakthi Life began commercial operations in 1994 as Sri Lanka’s first specialised life insurer. Over the past 32 years, the company has continued to adapt its offerings to changing customer requirements while developing protection solutions focused on the evolving needs of policyholders.
The company has introduced a number of specialised insurance solutions over the years, including COVID Cover, AIDS Cover and Military Cover. It has also expanded access to life insurance for older customers, offering coverage for individuals aged 70 and above, with protection available up to the age of 80.
Janashakthi Life currently holds assets exceeding Rs. 41.1 billion and maintains an A- rating from Lanka Rating Agency. Its equity base of Rs. 16.7 billion further supports the company’s capacity to meet its long-term obligations to policyholders.
