New Rothschild Tea Factory, situated in the Pussellawa planting region and managed by Browns Plantations, achieved an all-time record price of Rs.2,950 per kilogramme for the PEK1 grade in the Western Medium elevation, at the weekly tea auction held on September 8 and 9, 2026.
The tea was auctioned by Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC and purchased by M/S. Vintage Teas Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd.
