TBWA\Sri Lanka has secured the top position at the 2026 Dragons of Sri Lanka, being named the No. 1 Industry Leader after winning seven awards across four campaigns.
The agency’s winning performance included one Gold, two Silver, two Bronze and two Black Dragons, highlighting the breadth of its creative work across different categories and business challenges.
What makes the achievement particularly notable is that all seven awards came from just four campaigns created for two long-standing clients, Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka and Maliban Biscuit Manufactories.
Hutch Leads TBWA\Sri Lanka’s Award-Winning Performance
One of the standout campaigns was Hutch Roaming – The Roaming Hack, which secured both a Gold Dragon in Artificial Intelligence and a Black Dragon in the Small Budget category.
The campaign demonstrated how technology and creative thinking could come together to address a practical consumer problem. Rather than relying on conventional approaches, the idea used technology as a creative tool to find an unconventional solution.
Another Hutch campaign, Hutch Pissuwak, meaning “This is Crazy,” received a Silver Dragon in Product Launch or Re-launch. The recognition highlighted the campaign’s distinctive creative approach to introducing a Hutch proposition to consumers.
Maliban Campaigns Also Earn Major Recognition
TBWA\Sri Lanka’s work for Maliban Biscuit Manufactories contributed significantly to its overall success at the awards.
HumaniTill won a Silver Dragon in Event or Experiential and a Bronze Dragon in Cause, Environment or Sustainability.
The campaign focused on transforming the idea of giving into a more tangible and engaging experience, connecting participation with a wider social impact.
Another Maliban campaign, The One Breath Challenge, created for Clean Air Day, earned a Bronze Dragon in Media as well as a Black Dragon in Creative Excellence.
Together, the campaigns demonstrated the agency’s ability to apply different creative approaches to challenges spanning technology, product launches, social impact, media and experiential marketing.
Creativity Across Seven Different Categories
TBWA\Sri Lanka’s seven awards covered a wide range of categories, including Artificial Intelligence, Product Launch or Re-launch, Event or Experiential, Cause, Environment or Sustainability, Media, Creative Excellence and Small Budget.
The diversity of the wins reflects the agency’s approach of developing ideas around the problem itself rather than beginning with a particular advertising format or medium.
Nathasoruban Sivapatham, Chief Creative Officer at TBWA\Sri Lanka, said the breadth of the recognition was particularly rewarding for the agency.
He highlighted how the winning campaigns addressed very different challenges, from using AI to rethink a roaming proposition to turning the act of giving into an experience, emphasizing the agency’s belief that creativity should begin with finding the most effective solution to a problem.
Disruption® in Action
The awards also reinforce TBWA\Sri Lanka’s Disruption® in Action philosophy, which encourages teams to challenge established approaches and search for new ways for brands to connect with audiences.
Rather than pursuing disruption simply for the sake of being different, the agency positions the approach as a way of finding better answers to business and consumer challenges.
Renuka Marshall, Managing Director of TBWA\Sri Lanka, said being named the No. 1 Industry Leader reflected what Disruption® in Action means to the agency and its approach to solving challenges for clients and their audiences.
Strong Client Partnerships Behind the Work
TBWA\Sri Lanka also credited its long-standing relationships with Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka and Maliban Biscuit Manufactories as an important foundation behind the award-winning work.
According to Ahmed T. Hassan, Chief Operating Officer of TBWA\Sri Lanka, every recognized campaign was driven by teams that challenged conventional ideas, collaborated closely and continued developing their concepts.
He also emphasized the role of client trust in allowing the agency to explore different approaches and push creative ideas further.
The seven-award haul ultimately represents more than a collection of trophies for TBWA\Sri Lanka. It reflects the agency’s continued focus on combining unconventional thinking with practical solutions for brands, consumers and wider social challenges.
With its No. 1 Industry Leader title at the 2026 Dragons, TBWA\Sri Lanka has marked another significant milestone while reinforcing its ambition to turn disruptive ideas into meaningful creative impact.
